Sustainability + Governance

Today, not only do the quality and price of products and services matter, but the conditions under which they are produced. Companies must be responsible to society and the environment.

What we care about

As a company, we want to do our part for people and the environment. As an IT service provider, energy efficiency, CO2 offsetting, and the promotion of social projects are just as important to us as the best possible conditions for our employees. We do this through internal and external regulations (Syntax Code of Conduct), numerous CSR projects, participation in the United Nations Global Compact initiative and certifications. Our commitment is built on four pillars:

Corporate Governance

– Regulatory compliance
– Anticorruption / antibribery

Employee Experience

– Health and Safety
– Personal Development
– Diversity and Equal Opportunities / Inclusion
– Work-life balance

Sustainability & Environment

– Energy Efficient IT
– Environmental Standards
– Mobility (“green fleet” company-provided vehicles)
– Sustainability of suppliers, customers and partners

Society & Social Issues

– Corporate social responsibility projects
– Information Security
– Data Privacy

Syntax Code of Conduct:

Balancing business success and values

Ethical standards govern the way Syntax does business around the world – and they are just as important to us as commercial success. The Syntax Code of Conduct describes the cornerstones of our corporate culture. In this set of binding rules for all employees, we define the principles that govern our cooperation with business partners, employees and society. Issues such as equal opportunities/inclusion, work-life balance, compliance and data protection are always at the top of our agenda.

Promoting Education: Corporate Social Responsibility Program at Syntax

Education is a high priority at Syntax – both for our own employees and for society. In 2020, we launched a Corporate Social Responsibility Program to actively promote education. The program provides Syntax employees with a framework for sustainable social commitment. They make a voluntary contribution to improving educational opportunities – locally, regionally and globally.

Targeted initiatives, annual service day events, financial resources and the development of communities help children with difficult starting conditions, among others, to find their place in society. Projects include:

  • Syntax Service Week, during which employees are given time for volunteer activities;
  • The Knowledge Factory, which offers hands-on projects on STEM topics along the entire education chain.

Female Power @ Syntax: Women in Tech

Diversity and equal opportunities are among the cornerstones of Syntax’s corporate culture. “Women in Tech” is an internal initiative, currently for employees in North America (USA, Canada), India and Mexico, organized entirely by women and promotes female employees, It provides a platform for coordinating mentoring, the exchange of ideas and the promotion of the female workforce across all areas of the company.

The program’s mission is to work together to remove obstacles that women often face. Activities include monthly training and discussion sessions, guest speakers, virtual business lunches, participation in the Women Impact Tech (WIT) conference, mentoring & leadership sessions and presence at industry events.

We aim to better establish women as thought leaders in the technology sector and to enable them to develop successfully at Syntax – with a positive impact on the entire company.

Microsoft Act to Accelerate Partner Pledge

Technology permeates most areas of our lives. Being an IT company means taking responsibility for issues affecting society. Microsoft builds on the diversity of its partner network. By voluntarily signing the Act to Accelerate Partner Pledge, we are working with Microsoft to promote sustainable development in the five key areas of innovation, trust, culture, sustainability and empowerment. This lays the foundation for us as a company to play a positive role in shaping the future in the years to come.
